Discover the world.

Take chances, take risks.

Follow your instinct, trust yourself.

Create the environment for you to flourish.

Invite others to collaborate with you.

Laugh more and spend more time with friends.

Make time just for yourself.

All things you can find on a Hallmark greeting card, but maybe it’s all true. Try it and find out for yourself, and see if you’re life becomes more rewarding.

I ❤ Haters

We need haters. They help us.

I think once in a while we get complacent, or happy in our own bubble for too long… and then the trolls hit. They have the potential to cut you down or elevate you. Depends how you look at it.

The aim is not to get bogged down, as they say, let your haters be your motivators. It’s a surefire way to a PMA (positive mental attitude).

We all tell ourselves a certain story, for good or for bad, so when a new character comes into our story (i.e. the hater), we decide what role to assign them, if any is going. You are the screenwriter of the play of your life.

Next time you encounter a hater, don’t let them get the better of you. Instead, observe their input, have a laugh, and move on with more energy to fuel your day.

Positive Mental Attitude

We all yo-yo from time to time. Good days, bad days, and in between days. Some of us feel it more intensely than others, but we’re all vulnerable to it. Mental health is a conversation that needs to be discussed, no matter who brings it up. We don’t need big parades, or special days to commemorate it. We just need to talk about it. Talk to your friends, talk to your parents, your partner, your doctor, a therapist. Talk to someone, anyone. We’re losing loved ones to suicide at a staggering rate in our country and this has to change. Reach out, tell your friends and family that you appreciate them and you love them. You don’t need a reason just make a habit of it. The photo above was taken while on assignment for Dance Therapy NZ, a charitable trust who empower people with special needs through the use of dance and arts therapy programs. Some of the most positive and happiest bunch of people you’ll ever meet, and I am grateful I had a chance to experience them.

PMA: Positive Mental Attitude. It takes no money, no time, and no effort, and you can do it right now. It will help you and those around you. It will become infectious, it just takes one person to start.
