We all yo-yo from time to time. Good days, bad days, and in between days. Some of us feel it more intensely than others, but we’re all vulnerable to it. Mental health is a conversation that needs to be discussed, no matter who brings it up. We don’t need big parades, or special days to commemorate it. We just need to talk about it. Talk to your friends, talk to your parents, your partner, your doctor, a therapist. Talk to someone, anyone. We’re losing loved ones to suicide at a staggering rate in our country and this has to change. Reach out, tell your friends and family that you appreciate them and you love them. You don’t need a reason just make a habit of it. The photo above was taken while on assignment for Dance Therapy NZ, a charitable trust who empower people with special needs through the use of dance and arts therapy programs. Some of the most positive and happiest bunch of people you’ll ever meet, and I am grateful I had a chance to experience them.
PMA: Positive Mental Attitude. It takes no money, no time, and no effort, and you can do it right now. It will help you and those around you. It will become infectious, it just takes one person to start.
